Editor's Review
The Goodwill Outlet Store in Honolulu presents a unique shopping experience that diverges sharply from traditional thrift stores. Family-owned since 1992, this location offers a mix of bargains and challenges that have garnered a range of opinions from visitors. Many shoppers find excitement in the treasure-hunting aspect of digging through blue bins filled with donated items. As Daniel White noted, "You must know what you're getting into before you go. Everything is dumped into blue bins...You dig through the bins to try to find something you'll want." This chaotic yet thrilling environment seems to resonate with those willing to put in the effort.
However, not all feedback is glowing. Some customers express disappointment, particularly regarding cleanliness and customer service. K. C. went so far as to call the prices "insulting and disrespectful for literal trash," highlighting a common sentiment about the quality of items in the bins. Mia Ruiz shared her own struggles with customer service, stating, "the cashier was so incredibly rude that I left right after our interaction." While several reviews mention friendly staff, the inconsistency leaves some shoppers frustrated.
For families and bargain hunters who enjoy the thrill of the hunt, the store also features organic produce and closeout deals, adding a layer of value not typically found in standard Goodwill locations. Joy Roldan reflected positively on visiting with her kids, noting the necessity for patience when sifting through items but appreciating the kindness of the staff. Overall, this Goodwill outlet strikes a balance between the excitement of second-hand shopping and the need for a bit of patience and discernment.

This was my first time at this location, and I was very disappointed with the customer service. Granted itβs a Goodwill so the bar is already pretty low. But the cashier was so incredibly rude that I left right after our interaction. No aloha.
Stopped by the bins to see what the experience was like in Hawaiβi (visiting from seattle). Itβs a similar experience to Seattle, but everyone is so much nicer and super chill. Bin rotations arenβt as frequent.
