Editor's Review

Community Thrift Store in Gurnee, IL, has an eclectic charm that draws in bargain hunters and vintage lovers alike, but it also comes with a fair share of mixed feelings. Reviewers often rave about the store's vast selection of gently used clothes and household items. As Wilson Wilson noted, there’s 'a nice wide variety of clothes,' which means you're bound to find something unique. However, this treasure hunt isn't without its challenges. Several customers pointed out the inconsistent pricing and organization. Jessica L. expressed frustration over items being tagged at prices comparable to brand-new retail items, stating, 'charging those prices… no wonder there wasn’t anyone in the store.'

While the store boasts new inventory every day, many shoppers have found that prices can be steep for secondhand goods. Farah Patel remarked that it was 'wild that this is a thrift store that gets FREE donations' but still prices worn items close to brand-new costs. This sentiment of overpriced items isn't isolated, as Jennifer Miyagawa shared her experience of sizes being mismatched and clothes not grouped appropriately.

Despite these critiques, the community spirit shines through, and the store remains family-owned since 1992, offering a unique shopping experience. The polite staff adds a welcoming touch, making the hunt for gems a bit more enjoyable.

Best for: This store is best for those who enjoy the thrill of vintage finds and have a keen eye for bargains.

This community thrift store on Grand Avenue in Gurnee is racist. If they do not want an item sold to you it is because you are not of their Hispanic heritage. Wanted to buy an item that had been purchased and sitting for pick up for two weeks. Manage...

You have to really dig here. Sizes on the clothing tags always has the wrong size and don’t seemed to actually be grouped by like sizes. Also a little pricey for a thrift store
