Editor's Review
A stroll through the Deseret Industries Thrift Store & Donation Center in Salt Lake City reveals a blend of charm and chaos that keeps customers coming back. With an overall rating of 4.3 out of 5 from over a thousand reviews, this family-owned business, established in 1992, has become a staple for many locals. As Garod Saxon enthusiastically shared, 'I always leave with something I didn't think I needed,' highlighting the store’s knack for unexpected finds. Shoppers often rave about the incredible deals, like discovering $400 printers for just $10, which is a testament to the store’s diverse inventory.
However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Some customers, like Jason C., have expressed dissatisfaction with rising prices and the quality of service. His remark about the pricing being 'absurd' resonates with others who feel the store should cater more to low-income residents. A few reviews also mention inconsistent customer service experiences, particularly noting issues with pricing transparency, as seen in Amelia's account of a miscommunication over bag prices.
Despite these hiccups, the community impact of Deseret Industries shines through. Richard Carter remarked on the remarkable work they do in the community, a sentiment that seems to resonate with many patrons who appreciate supporting a good cause while shopping. Ultimately, this thrift store manages to balance low prices and community service, making it an enticing option for thrifty shoppers.

One of my favorite places to go in and window shop. I always leave with something I didn't think I needed. Found two $400+ printers for $10 each. Work great. Also some bookshelves that I love $8 each. Always goes to a good cause too.
