Editor's Review
Goodwill Store and Donation Center in Kailua-Kona, HI, has built a reputation since its establishment in 1992, with a solid overall rating of 3.8 out of 5 from 192 reviews. However, the data tells a different story when it comes to pricing. Several reviewers express concerns about the high costs for used items, which is unexpected for a thrift store. As Stassi Araki put it, 'why is everything so expensive?!' with prices like $12.99 for outerwear and $7.99 for tops being common complaints.
Yet, not all feedback is negative. Many customers highlight the friendly and helpful staff. Nattida Samanukorn remarked, 'We love this Goodwill. The staff are really nice, the store is well kept and there’s always some fun finds.' This sentiment is echoed by other patrons who appreciate the regular turnover of inventory, particularly with new items arriving every Tuesday.
Despite the high prices, consistent praise is also directed towards the store's cleanliness and organization. A recent update to improve air conditioning and UV protection for the windows has also been well-received. Overall, Goodwill Store and Donation Center attracts thrift shoppers who value community support and friendly service, though they may want to temper their expectations regarding pricing.

Decent selection but the prices were super steep. Do yourself a favor and go to any of the other thrift stores in the area instead.
So disappointed that staff were not very friendly. Came with donations at 5:01 pm and they would not take our donations. Even though there were staff there. We ended up taking our household goods to Habitat for Humanity instead (near Costco).
We love this Goodwill. The staff are really nice, the store is well kept and there’s always some fun finds. Update: they added some UV protection to the windows and fixed their AC and it’s much less hot in there now!
