Editor's Review
The Goodwill Store and Donation Center in Kailua-Kona, HI, boasts a solid overall rating of 3.8 out of 5 based on 192 reviews, but the feedback reveals a mixed bag of experiences. On one hand, customers commend the friendliness of the staff and the well-kept nature of the store. Nattida Samanukorn remarked, 'We love this Goodwill. The staff are really nice, the store is well kept and there’s always some fun finds.' This attention to customer service is a highlight, especially in the often-impersonal environment of thrift stores.
However, the data tells a different story when it comes to pricing, which several reviewers found to be unexpectedly high for a thrift store. For instance, Stassi Araki pointed out that she was “amazed” at the prices, noting $7.99 for used tops and pants. Kalani echoed this sentiment with, 'Decent selection but the prices were super steep.' These complaints indicate a disconnect between customer expectations and the store’s pricing strategy.
Another area of concern is the handling of donations. Gloria Chrysalis Travel experienced a frustrating interaction when staff refused to accept donations just after closing time, leading her to take her items elsewhere. This suggests that operational policies might need revisiting, especially when customer goodwill is in play.

Decent selection but the prices were super steep. Do yourself a favor and go to any of the other thrift stores in the area instead.
So disappointed that staff were not very friendly. Came with donations at 5:01 pm and they would not take our donations. Even though there were staff there. We ended up taking our household goods to Habitat for Humanity instead (near Costco).
We love this Goodwill. The staff are really nice, the store is well kept and there’s always some fun finds. Update: they added some UV protection to the windows and fixed their AC and it’s much less hot in there now!
