Editor's Review
Goodwill in Montgomery, AL, has carved its niche as a community-based organization that focuses on job training and education, but the reviews tell a different story. Customers are split between appreciating the mission and expressing frustration about the shopping experience. Reviewers like Christy point out that, 'The prices for this place are absolutely ridiculous,' suggesting that it feels more like a retail store than a thrift shop. This sentiment resonates with others who feel that the pricing has become too steep.
Another recurring complaint is the lack of basic amenities. Autumn Klepper mentioned, 'NO fitting rooms!' which is a real letdown for thrift shoppers who want to try before they buy. Additionally, Oli Bacchus described a frustrating donation experience, noting that 'no staff' were available when he tried to drop off items. It seems that while Goodwill’s mission is commendable, the execution leaves much to be desired.
Some customers highlight the potential for finding nice items, but the overall atmosphere and management practices seem to be a recurring issue. Kelly Carroll's experience highlights this, saying, 'Workers were all sitting down and some were eating food on the floor as customer shopped.' The physical state of the store has drawn criticism, which is something that cannot be ignored.

NO fitting rooms! I spent a couple hours shopping for jeans, etc etc, only to realize that there is NO way to try them on. What a giant waste of time. I will not come back.
They wouldn’t take my donations, no staff. Place was a disaster and half a mind to write corporate.
This is one of those Goodwills that is slowly becoming too expensive to shop at. Just go buy your used items from ebay, now. It’s cheaper and they at least have a return policy.
